Grief support

Grief is a journey through a sometimes inhospitable wilderness.

Grief is a journey through a sometimes inhospitable wilderness. An understanding companion for the journey can help change the scene into a healing, hopeful, courageous walk where the spirit is honored in silence or remembered through sharing.

Our team of social workers, spiritual support counselors, and volunteers have years of experience as understanding companions, respect the pain of loss, and are ready to walk this journey with you.
You do not need to have been a family member of a hospice patient, and there is no charge to the participants of any of these programs.

Camp Amanda

Camp Amanda is a program of Walla Walla Community Hospice. It is a special weekend experience for children ages 8–14 who have experienced a significant loss. Campers are paired with their own camp counselor for the weekend. Campers also enjoy traditional camp activities, such as archery, swimming, campfires, crafts, fishing, and more. Through interactions with other children and adults, campers learn they are not alone in their grief.

Camp Amanda is available at no charge to the participants or their families. Learn More

Grief support begins the moment an individual begins hospice services. Anticipating a loss is one of the hardest experiences a loved one will have, and our team is here to support your during the hospice journey.

Bereavement services extend for 13 months following the death of a loved one, and in addition we offer community bereavement services, free of charge to anyone who may be grieving a loss.

You do not need to have been a family member of a hospice patient, and there is no charge to the participants of any of these programs.
